Please join us for the Embodying Empowerment Art Exhibition Opening Reception and Artist Talk. Love Your Vessel International and OCA Mocha are very excited to collaborate to bring this “Embodying Empowerment” Exhibition to life that celebrates our bodies! The goal of this exhibition is to promote body acceptance, self-love, spread eating disorder awareness and work to dismantle unrealistic beauty standards.

Love Your Vessel International is an organization that utilizes the transformative power of the creative arts to promote empowerment, self-love, and body acceptance through yoga, art exhibitions, self-love photography, events, talks, workshops, and retreats. The core mission is to uplift individuals while combating unrealistic beauty standards and spreading awareness of eating disorders. The Founder, Martina Maya-Callen (She/Her/Ella), started this organization with her art installation and performance, "The Hidden Secrets of Eating Disorders," which gained international attention and was featured in Yahoo!, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Bustle, and Glamour Magazine. This was selected as one of the Top 13 Most Inspiring Body Positive Moments of 2017 by Cosmopolitan.

Every one of us is different, we come in different shapes, shades, and sizes. It is easy in today’s world to get lost in the thought of what is ‘perfect’. Every form that we as humans take, is worthy of love and praise. Art like ourselves is unique, no two pieces are exactly the same and our minds appreciate that. Our bodies are works of art that breathe and move in the natural gallery that is the world. No one should be held back by society’s ever-shifting gaze of approval because at the end of the day - we exist as perfect beings as we are.

At OCA Mocha, all bodies are welcome and our next gallery is a tribute to that. Our community and artists are celebrating the greatness within each and everyone one of us. We’re proud to partner with Love Your Vessel to create a space to love and appreciate the beauty of the body.
